Her name is Katie Kirkpatrick, 21 yrs old. Next to her is her fiancé, Nick, 23.
This picture was taken prior to their wedding January 11th,2005 . Katie has terminal cancer and spends hours in chemotherapy.
Here Nick awaits while she finishes one of the sessions..
Even in pain and dealing with her organs shutting down, with the help of morphine, Katie took care of every single wedding planning.
Her dress had to be adjusted several times due to Katie's constant weight loss.
An expected guest was her oxygen tank. Katie had to use it during the ceremony and reception.
The other couple in this picture are Nick's parents, very emotional with the wedding and of course to see their son marrying the girl he fell in love when he was an adolescent.
Katie died 5 days after her wedding. To see a fragile woman dress as bride with a beautiful smile makes you think... happiness is always there within reach, no matter how long it lasts.....lets enjoy life and don't live a complicated life. Life is too short.
work as if it was your first day
forgive as soon as possible
love without boundaries
laugh without control
and never stop smiling
even if you don't know the reason.
Please pray for those suffering from cancer.
We all have close to our heart.

Eternal God, who sends consolation to all sorrowing hearts,
we turn to You for solace in this, our trying hour.
Though bowed in grief as our loved one departs from our midst to enter into peace of life eternal,
we reaffirm our faith in Your compassion and Your ever-present love.
May we bear our sorrow with trustful hearts,
and knowing You are near, may we not despair.
Into Your hands we commend the spirit of our beloved.
Body and soul are Yours, O God,
and in Your presence we cast off fear and are at peace.
"There is no death, what we call death.
Is but surcease from strife;
They do not die who we call dead,
They go from life ... to Life."
I know several of you have shared this on your blogs, and I know the family is greatful to all of you who continue to pray. Please feel free to add this prayer to yours and pass along.

A week or so ago, I sent out an email about an 8 y/o little boy in Kevin’s family that was in Vandy. Latest update is: 8 year old Caleb's at Vandy right now.. His blood pressure has dropped and his stomach is swollen.. going to be moved to do CT scan. Please pray for the Lord to Heal this child. Our God is the Master Physician ABLE to do all things! We praise His name! Thank you God for Your healing power!
Caleb has been on ECMO for over 14 days and the doctors are telling the family he has to be taken off soon & that this is in God’s hands.
Please lift him up in your prayers!

Many times we are so busy in life that we forget how happy small things can make us. This morning as we awoke to such a beautiful day, I got up before everyone to get dressed and to get breakfast for everyone. The rest of my bunch decided that getting up one hour before church would be sufficient, not realizing that there are some extra things that needed to be done like...Easter Bunny deliveries, preparing for 20 guest after church, clothes that should have been ironed before this morning..well you get the picture. As I sat tonight to blog, I was downloading pics from the camera and noticed that my wonderful husband had taken the children's picture while I continued to run around and do what needed to be done. In the future, I will not remember all the details that needed to be done, but I will always have this picture of this sweet picture of my Lilly and her Lee. Happy Easter!!!!!!

Steve swears that he was trying to get a picture of something else,
but it looks like Tim is getting a spit bath from Dana..LOL!!
Lilly and her egg basket that her Aunt Mary handmade.
Last Sunday, we had the best time with our friends from Central in the egg hunt. It was at the home of Ronnie and Cindy Rogers, and the kids had a blast!!

Caleb Smith is still on the ECMO machine. If your wondering how this is different from a regular respirator, well I asked. This machine is used a lot on transplant patients. It not only is working for the lungs but for the heart also. He got a hematoma in his leg when they first put him on it. They say that it might be up to two weeks to see improvements. Keep the prayers going!!!
