This is Lillly's puppy. She is a little over a year old and weighs only 140 lbs. Can you believe that she started out in the house??? I know, what was I thinking?? After she chewed 10 pairs of my shoes that was it, and when she ran to greet you she would slide you across the hardwood and the chair you were in. OUT she went. She really enjoys people. Really she does..lol Almost forgot to tell her you her name....TINK!

Boy have I been out of the blogging world to long. Although I continue to take orders and my MIL fill them, I have decided to sell my personal embroidery machine. I did not realize how busy that I would be being a principal. I still continue to take orders and need to post pics of those or teach the MIL to do that too..lol. I have included a picture. It is still a great machine( Brother Innovis 1200).Its special because it converts from a regular sewing machine to an embroidery machine, so its a 2 in 1. Drop me an email if your interested.

Most of you know that I am the new principal at Morrison, and I want to thank all of you for the sweet comments, calls, and cards. I have always had the desire to become an administrator, and I have even interviewed before and not gotten the job. This is beautiful - and it is surely worth making the 5 finger prayer a part of our lives.

1.Your thumb is nearest you. So begin your prayers by praying for those closest to you. They are the easiest to remember. To pray for our loved ones is, as C. S. Lewis once said, a 'sweet duty.'

2. The next finger is the pointing finger. Pray for those who teach, instruct and heal. This includes teachers, doctors, and ministers. They need support and wisdom in pointing others in the right direction. Keep them in your prayers.

3. The next finger is the tallest finger. It reminds us of our leaders. Pray for the president, leaders in business and industry, and administrators. These people shape our nation and guide public opinion. They need God's guidance.

4. The fourth finger is our ring finger. Surprising to many is the fact that this is our weakest finger, as any piano teacher will testify. It should remind us to pray for those who are weak, in trouble or in pain. They need your prayers day and night. You cannot pray too much for them.

5. And lastly comes our little finger - the smallest finger of all which is where we should place ourselves in relation to God and others. As the Bible says, 'The least shall be the greatest among you.' Your pinkie should remind you to pray for yourself. By the time you have prayed for the other four groups, your own needs will be put into proper perspective and you will be able to pray for yourself more effectively.

Her name is Katie Kirkpatrick, 21 yrs old. Next to her is her fiancé, Nick, 23.
This picture was taken prior to their wedding January 11th,2005 . Katie has terminal cancer and spends hours in chemotherapy.
Here Nick awaits while she finishes one of the sessions..

Even in pain and dealing with her organs shutting down, with the help of morphine, Katie took care of every single wedding planning.
Her dress had to be adjusted several times due to Katie's constant weight loss.

An expected guest was her oxygen tank. Katie had to use it during the ceremony and reception.
The other couple in this picture are Nick's parents, very emotional with the wedding and of course to see their son marrying the girl he fell in love when he was an adolescent.

In the middle of the party Katie had to rest for a bit and catch her breath. The pain doesn't allow her to stand for long period of time.

Katie died 5 days after her wedding. To see a fragile woman dress as bride with a beautiful smile makes you think... happiness is always there within reach, no matter how long it lasts.....lets enjoy life and don't live a complicated life. Life is too short.

PRAYERS NEEDED!

A week or so ago, I sent out an email about an 8 y/o little boy in Kevin’s family that was in Vandy. Latest update is: 8 year old Caleb's at Vandy right now.. His blood pressure has dropped and his stomach is swollen.. going to be moved to do CT scan. Please pray for the Lord to Heal this child. Our God is the Master Physician ABLE to do all things! We praise His name! Thank you God for Your healing power!

Caleb has been on ECMO for over 14 days and the doctors are telling the family he has to be taken off soon & that this is in God’s hands.

Please lift him up in your prayers!

Many times we are so busy in life that we forget how happy small things can make us. This morning as we awoke to such a beautiful day, I got up before everyone to get dressed and to get breakfast for everyone. The rest of my bunch decided that getting up one hour before church would be sufficient, not realizing that there are some extra things that needed to be done like...Easter Bunny deliveries,preparing for 20 guest after church, clothes that should have been ironed before this morning..well you get the picture. As I sat tonight to blog, I was downloading pics from the camera and noticed that my wonderful husband had taken the children's picture while I continued to run around and do what needed to be done. In the future, I will not remember all the details that needed to be done, but I will always have this picture of this sweet picture of my Lilly and her Lee. Happy Easter!!!!!!

These cute bibs are headed to Texas to my SIL. One of her coworkers just had her baby. The mother and baby Mikayla are doing great!

Caleb Smith is still on the ECMO machine. If your wondering how this is different from a regular respirator, well I asked. This machine is used a lot on transplant patients. It not only is working for the lungs but for the heart also. He got a hematoma in his leg when they first put him on it. They say that it might be up to two weeks to see improvements. Keep the prayers going!!!

Caleb Smith has been changed to an ECMO respirator and is started to respond a little yesterday, and is about the same today. Thank you for all your prayers, but continue to pray for them!!

Prayers for little Caleb Smith..

Please pray for Caleb( 7yrs), Jennifer, and David Smith. Caleb tested positive for the flu, week before last, then came down with a cough, then by that following Sunday he had trouble breathing. He was then admitted to River Park. Then on Tuesday his oxygen level had dropped to 70%. He was sent to Vanderbilt, he has been given blood, and having kidney trouble. They have induced a coma and put him on life support. They really need our prayers. Hold your little ones tight tonight!!!
If you want to help the family, Jennifer's coworkers at Dr. Bryan Chastain's office will take monetary donations to the family. Remember that we are all far more blessed than we realize!!!

To those of you that have asked me where I've been...thank you!!! It's great to have friends that are always concerned. My life has currently been filled with filling orders( LeAnn please send a pic soon) , attending the funeral of Steve's Great uncle,Leonard Crawley, retyping over 1,000 data entries for our jail ministry@ church, painting Granny's Bumbalough's kitchen/diningroom/hall. Getting 108 kis ready for the TCAP test. Oh, I almost forgot(sorry Anne) that I am charge of the hostesses for Ladies Day, and the program..WHEW...I really need a Vacation. I have decided that I will try and post 3-5 times a week. I realize that no one can do it all...LOL!!
Okay enough of that boring stuff!! How about some of the projects I've completed lately? I'm posting Wendy Beaty's shower gifts( burp cloths and bib/paci holder) for Walker tonight. Shawn works with Steve, and we just love their family.Their shower was tonight and Walker is going to be one styling baby!!

Okay, I have been so busy and blessed these days, I am going to hold a contest. I have added a picture of my latest creation. This is a bib/pacifier holder. It has a Velcro closure at the bottom that is folded back where the pacifier goes. This one is off to a new little one, Bonnie and Charles Collier's first grandson. These can be made with any fabric and monogrammed. The cost is only $10.00 plain and 15.00 with monogram. So what does this have to do with the contest?? I need a name for this new creation!!! It serves two purposes, so I think it deserves a cute name, which is where you all come in. I want your name suggestions on this new creation. Here are the rules:
Place a picture of it on your blog with your name suggestion. The person with the most comments on their blog will receive a monogrammed beach towel. Monti and Wesley contacted us about making Bree an outfit to wear at competition in Florida. She found a picture of what she was interested in and the rest is "stitches" This outfit included a reversible top with WCHS on the opposite side. This new style doesn't have buttons, it simply ties so that it can be worn for many seasons. Hope they have a great time...a picture of Bree in the outfit to come.

Breaking news - CPSIA delayed! Your amazing efforts made a difference

According to today's most excellent release from the Consumer Products Safety Commission, the CPSC has done the only common sense thing it could have done, and granted a one year stay of testing and certification requirements until February 10, 2010. Which means...

whoo!

Commissioner Nancy Nord in her letter to congress calls it "a time-out." Which is exactly the right thing to do.

To quote the CPSC statement:
Manufacturers and importers large and small of children's products will not need to test or certify to these new requirements, but will need to meet the lead and phthalates limits...

We received a call from Mrs. Pattie's sister-in-law
again this morning.Pattie is speaking and moving
her legs.  They may move her out into a regular room
later today.  They are still not sure what has caused
this and are going to do a battery of tests on her today.
We will let you know what they find out when we find out.
Just keep her and her family in your
prayers.

Just talked to Jamie..surgery went well. It looks as though it was contained within the mass. Great news!!! God hears prayers!!!!

The latest on Pattie:
Her sister-in-law called Mr. Reed and said that a doctor
finally came in last night and said her MRI looked great.
The doctor doesn't think it was a stroke or MS and that
she will be up and about at 100% with  medication.

Please pray for Stephanie Simerly as she will be having surgery tomorrow, and to Patti Smith..a fellow teacher, who is also Laura Dunlap's mother. Today after church she was life flighted to Skyline and suffered a stroke. Please, Please lift these women and their families up in prayers.

This was one of two shirts that Leann Nokes commissioned me to make. This was my favorite of the two. It's hard to see in the first pic, but the heart is actually broken. I know news travels fast in Warren County, but for those of you who don't know..Stephanie Simerly has been diagnosed with Breast Cancer..I will not go into all the little details, but I would like for you to pray for her, Jamie, and Chelsea. I know several of us from church are going to take meals to them starting on Feb 3rd. Jamie says they will be spending the night after surgery and home on the 3rd.
